Breakdown Championship - The Jim Yoshii Pile-Up
Found this band on an old mewithoutyou forum, which is obviously the best place to find music! This song is so beautiful and has great lyrics.
A classic emo song, yet sounding slightly new and unique.
"You ask me what's my greatest fear. Well honey, it's living here, making 6.50 an hour"
Monterey - Starflyer 59
No idea why I hadn't heard this song when I was deep into the shoegaze genre because it rocks! Dreamy, kinda melancholy and totally unskippable.
Yet another great band from Tooth & Nail records (see last weeks entry).
C-Minor - mewithoutyou
Returned back to mewithoutyou after an accidental hiatus and I have just dived straight into their discography. Every song is incredible.
I really think I've found this band again at the most pivotal moment in my life, alot of the songs I didn't like that much in the past I am able to see
in a new light. This is a particularly special song that I keep coming back to - that chorus alone is enough to make you loose your surroundings just for a couple seconds. I love these guys!
CONTROL - Frost Children
Craziest song of the summer for real, so hyped for the new album! Finally a song that captures everything I thought music should be when I was 11 the only thing I would listen to is a Electronic/ Dance Nightcore playlist. The MV link is
here, didn't want to include it in the normal place as it uses alot of flashing lights, so watch with care ^^
Think it Through - MSPAINT
The Garden Meets Linkin Park meets microsoft art software = MSPAINT. This is a great song for speed walking and jumping around in empty rooms.
Wayyy too short so I just have to press replay... again... and again...
Simplicity Is Beautiful - Juliana Hatfield
The "Hey guys wait" at the start of this song will always make me smile and even when the song ends I find I'm still smiling!
This song is like pure sunshine, the lyrics are cute and random and the guitars are dreamy and shoegaze-y.
Juliana doesn't have many songs like this and I so wish she did because this song is just that angelic.
Battle of Who Could Care Less - Ben Folds Five
Been on a Ben Folds kick as of late and this song is one of my many favourites from the BFF discography.
It's a fun song to sing along to and I can't help but sway along to the beat and pretend I'm on piano.
I like to listen to this song on the way to work so I have something upbeat stuck in my head all day.
"This should cheer you up for sure, see I've got your old I.D. and you're all dressed up like the Cure"
