"So if you told me this was a secret New Order album that they released on T&N I would have to believe you. Fine China's When The World Sings is like being transported back to the early 80s is almost too reminsicent of bands like Durutti Column, The Wake and New Order. The album is full of bubblegum synth pop goodness and is totally perfect if you need a little pick me up or an album to practice two stepping to. But, unlike it's 80s ancestors it fails to bring anything else than just dance-y tunes to the table. I think the main problem with the album is the lyrics, they're almost both too detailed and too abstract at the same time which leaves me feeling confused and unempathatic towards the songs. My favourite song on the album is certainly the opener, We Rock Harder Than You Ever Knew but I also like Comforting, Gondoliering, even if it sounds eerily like New Order's The Perfect Kiss. "

"Another emo classic from the beloved Further Seems Forever, this time even edgier with new vocalist Jason Gleason's gritty vocals. The album itself has a standard layout - a few emotional slower songs; I Am, Aurora Borealis (in long form) as well as some anthemic sing-a-longs; The Sound, Pride War. But what really makes the album unique is the band's more daring compositions like the title track, How To Start A Fire, which completely a abandons regular song structure. The stand out song on the album for me, is the penultimate track, The Deep with it's heartwrenching lyrics and wonderfully intricate guitar melodies. I wish the album had more moments like this as a few songs just sound so similar they just blend it to one. Overall, I think the album is great but apart from a few really good songs it lacks replay value unfortunately."
